The rattles are handmade from sustainably harvested woods of Oregon. They use copper-coated steel bbs, certified non-toxic wood glue, and Clapham's natural bees wax finish. They do NOT use any stains.The rattles are lead and phthalate free! Our earliest customers grew up with an Earnest Efforts rattle in their mouth and are now returning to us to purchase a rattle for their own babies.
