Hi! I’m Emily and I am a Registered Nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant who works here at New Mother New Baby and at a local pediatrician’s office. I earned my BSN from Northern Illinois University and achieved my IBCLC through IBCLE certification.  I have been a nurse for 9+ years now with my primary focus in Women and Children’s Health. I have been in-patient, outpatient, and everything in between and hope my well-rounded experiences can help shed light onto any of your questions or concerns. I spent many years working on a Postpartum/Mother-baby Unit and cross-trained to work NICU/Special Care. This is where I discovered my love for helping new mothers, seasoned mothers, and families feed their babies.  I also did many years of pre and postnatal teaching, so I am open to any questions and concerns about this new and challenging time in your life. I hope to be a positive and reliable resource to you and your family in this time of need. I currently work at a Pediatric office as well. From this I know how important collaboration of care with your healthcare provider can be, but also know how important your personal and self- care goals are in this time, so I would love to make a plan that meets the needs of your physician, but also stays in the realm of your personal goals and happiness as well.
