Clogged Ducts

We have many things these days that help with clogged ducts. The most important thing you can do is to see an IBCLC in person to help get to the root cause of the problem. Sometimes baby is not removing some or most of the milk which can lead to clogged ducts and baby not gaining well. Getting an experienced set of eyes on your baby to help with latch can make all the difference.

Sore Nipples

Sore nipples need to be healed quickly! Generally we can get you feeling so much better in just a few days to a week. Here are some of our favorite remedies. Make sure to make an appt with an IBCLC to get to the root cause of the problem and get you breastfeeding more comfortably.

Tummy Troubles

Many parents come in between 4-6 weeks saying their babies are gassy and uncomfortable. There are many reasons this can happen and some gassiness with a new baby is quite common. When it becomes problematic, we start looking of the root cause of why this is occuring. The list above are some of the remedies we use but it really depends on the cause. This is can be a great reason to schedule a visit with an IBCLC.

Tummy Time

Tummy Time is important to your baby's development and we recommend you start tummy time on your chest and by 2-3 weeks you should be doing it on the floor about 5 times per day. Adding it into your daily routine will help you be consistent. These are some of our favorite tummy time toys!

Baby Carriers

Babywearing is as much for you as it is for your baby. It allows you to be hands free and eat a much needed lunch or send a quick email. For your baby, it keeps them close, happy. It is a great when you don't want a lot of hands touching baby at a gathering. Babies also learn to nap in the carrier and that can be a lifesaver too.

Soothing a Fussy Baby

Finding a few minutes to grab something to eat, have a bathroom break or sit for a few minutes is not always easy but it is important for your well being. These are some tips to allow you just a few minutes. Can't promise it will work everytime...but certainly worth a try.

Milk Collectors

Finding ways to collect your milk without pumping can be a lifesaver. It saves time, your most precious commodity. Some of the milk collectors "catch" the milk. Some of them suction out the milk. Note next to each item it tells you if it is a catcher or a suction

These awesome of our prenatal favorites to get before you deliver. Colostrum is your first milk. It is now being taught in prenatal classes that collecting some of your own milk starting at 37 weeks (with clearance from your OB) can be beneficial in the early days when you are waiting for your milk to be more plentiful.

These are some of the items we recommend to get before you deliver. Don't forget to bring you nursing bra with you to the hospital. With so many people in and out of your room, you will be glad you have it with you. It can be nice to have a few nursing tops or dresses prior to delivery. It allows for discreet nursing when friends and relatives come over after baby is born.

Hands Free Beast Pumps

I really never thought these would become a thing, but I am so glad they did! The portable pumps have been a game changer for many. Here are a few of my favorites that I have seen work well and moms like. Just one tip, many moms love these but also say it is helpful, even essential, to have a "workhorse" pump in addition to their portable pump.

Starting solids typically occurs at right around 6 months of age. We like babies to be able to sit up on their own before starting solids. It is a fun and exciting time for your little one. The pumps listed here are some of our tried and true breastpumps. These are what we call the "workhorse" pumps. It is good if you are a first time mom and choosing your breastpump to start with one of these. We want to make sure at the beginning which is the most important time of establishing your supply that you have a reliable pump.
