Start with a prenatal consult around 32 weeks and schedule a follow-up visit your first week home for the best success.     Prenatal consultations can really make a difference in your breastfeeding success. Breastfeeding can be challenging at the beginning. We will go over hand expression, how to choose your breast pump, flange sizing, review all questions and more to get you ready for your breastfeeding journey. We will send you a plan of care with handouts and videos.

    We highly recommend seeing the lactation consultant during the first week, you are home with a baby. Every woman has a different anatomy, and every baby has their unique anatomy as well. We will help you feel so much calmer by getting your questions answered, making sure your baby is taking enough milk and by having a plan moving forward.

    Follow-up consultations are important to make sure the plan of care is working for you. It is nice to be followed to make sure things are going in the right direction. Some topics we cover are latching, correct pump use, infant tummy troubles, increasing milk supply, starting solids, tummy time, return to work and weaning to name a few.
